If the American military was cut by 85 percent, it would still be the largest in the world. With talk of nixing 150 billion dollars from the military budget, then, what implication will this have on the US work force? Author David Swanson says the war-industry needs not cut workers, but convert them, rather. Turning war-machine makers into members of a peaceful industry would produce more jobs—and better paying ones at that, he argues. While talk rages on about military spending cuts, Swanson says we have yet to see anything of the like happen—and questions if America ever will. Follow Lucy on Twitter at twitter.com

Switching from conventional sources of electricity like coal and natural gas to renewables like wind and solar, our elected leaders tell us, will reduce pollution, advance renewable technology and spark a green jobs revolution. Is renewable energy really a green pathway to a brighter economic future? Or is it nothing more than a heavily subsidized impossible dream? To learn more, we spoke with Cal State Fullerton economist Robert Michaels and Mark Tholke, an executive at enXco. Approximately 6.5 minutes. Produced by Paul Feine and Alex Manning. Why pay a huge amount like 00s for utilization of solar or wind power when you can have the opportunity to build your own home made solar system for less than 0. Thats right, there are guides that teach you everything you need to know about generating your own electricity by using wind and solar power. With the complete step-by-step setup fully illustrated manuals and easy to follow video instructions present in the guide you will be able to create renewable energy at home. Solar and wind power systems brought from the market costs higher but the guide and the program in it gives you the information that is required to get the same results at a tiny price. Once you have learned and ready to build and install your alternate power supply, you will save hundreds of dollars on your electricity bill. The Solar Roadways project is working to pave roads with solar panels that you can drive on. Co-founder Scott Brusaw has made some major steps forward since our first visit back in 2007, so we visited him again earlier this year for an exclusive update on the project, including the first ever video recorded of the Solar Roadways prototype! For more information visit www.solarroadways.com . This Solar Roadway project will be featured in the upcoming feature film by YERT – Your Environmental Road Trip.
